Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of whipped cream
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 1 (9 x 4) rectangle vanilla cake
  • A few candied chestnuts
  • A few yellow flowers
Icing
  • 1 cup store-bought chestnut puree
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup of cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Steps

  1. Combine all icing ingredients in a food processor then blend until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Whisk the cream and sugar as well as the vanilla bean together. Add the whipped cream to a pastry bag with a flat sleeve and refrigerate.
  3. Cover each side of the cake with icing then top with whipped cream, candied chestnuts and yellow flowers.
