Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon of milk
  • 1 cup of butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs, whisked
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Zest and juice of a lemon
Strawberry sauce
  • 4 cups of strawberries, cut in half
  • zest and juice of a small orange
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven at 325°F. Cover a loaf pan with parchment paper, then set aside.
  2. Mix the milk and baking powder in a bowl, then set aside.
  3. Whisk the butter, flour, zest and lemon juice along with the baking powder mix.
  4. Pour into the pan then bake for 50 minutes or until well cooked.
  5. Pour all sauce ingredients in a small bowl and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes then serve with the cake.
