Three Times a Day was born on April 10, 2013. I was unwinding on the couch, my laptop sitting on my lap and my legs resting on my boyfriend's as he watched TV.
I had just successfully overcome an eating disorder and I wanted to celebrate my love for cooking by creating my own cooking blog, which I named after my three meals a day. I had convinced Alex to take pictures of my recipes. He deeply loved photography but he had never dared to believe he could make a living off of his passion.
I took him antique shopping for vintage accessories, tables, and fabrics to liven up our pictures. As the days went by, my passion became contagious and he started dedicating his time to the blog. He converted a bedroom next to mine into a small studio, and he helped me to set up a website with the help of two friends.
We launched the website in a small coffee shop in Montreal, and that was where our passions came together.
We want to show our readers not only creative recipes, but also table art ideas that are true to our style, alternative cooking methods, and tips for making cooking fun and part of a daily routine. We also wanted to prove—beyond a reasonable doubt—that, with balance, maintaining a healthy relationship with food is possible.
Just like how artistic talent needs to be cultivated, we need to let Three Times a Day develop alongside our respective talents.
