The idea behind this was simple; I wanted to do as Alex’s grandma once did and merely put together basic ingredients and transformed them into the perfect weeknight dessert.

It brings me back to a time when my own grandma Huguette would fix me some strawberries with cream and sugar. Simple yet delicious.

  • 1 teaspoon of fruit jam
  • 3 lady fingers, store-bought
  • 1/4 cup of 35 % whipping cream
  • Sugar, as preferred
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of berries (blueberries & raspberries)
  • 1/4 cup of chocolate chips


  1. Spread the jam on the inside of a cup, then stick the lady fingers vertically up against the side.
  2. Whisk the cream in a bowl until peaks form. Add sugar as preferred, then set aside.
  3. Pour the milk in the cup with half the fruits and chocolate chips. Add the whip cream, then top with the remaining fruits and chocolate chips.
  4. Serve right away.
